Go Splat: Back in March 2020, Marple Story Makers started work on this, the first edition of their awesome comic – Go Splat! At the time, we were meeting on Saturday mornings at Marple library in Stockport. But then came lock-down and, to everyone’s horror, the library doors closed! For a while, it seemed our comic making dreams were over. But then a little friend (it could have been Fat Bear, or maybe Mr. Pineapple …) told us about Zoom and, within two weeks, the gang was back together, online - back to writing and drawing, creating all kinds of crazy, curious, funny, touching, and sometimes (very) rude stories about all the fantastic characters we’ve come to love over the past four months.  We even gained a new member - a new friend, all the way from Essex!

So now, we’re inviting you to enter the imaginations of the Marple Story Makers by following the adventures of their characters in the comic strips, poems and stories within these pages. And don’t leave out the amazing adverts and puzzles. Enjoy!

First session free - no fixed start date

If you have a budding writer in your midst then bring them along to our Creative Writing Club to meet other young writers and learn how to develop their creative writing skills.

Each week we’ll be exploring different areas of creative writing and teaching techniques to help young writers with their wordcraft. There will be creative games, writing exercises and tips to help your child explore their personal creative process.

So, if your child has a passion for poetry, a flare for fiction or just the gift of the gab, bring them along for a free taster session.

Please email Susie at: to book a place.
